Wantirna Primary is a “small school with BIG results” and is known to promote educational opportunity, excellence and tolerance in an exciting learning environment that has been recognised and celebrated by experts as being better able to adapt to the needs of students.
Our unique Junior Learning and Senior Learning Unit class structure enable our skilled teachers to better cater for individual learning styles and personalities, using our flexible learning spaces. Recent installation of interactive whiteboards has embedded the use of ICT in delivery of an exciting and engaging curriculum.
Underpinned by excellent literacy and numeracy teaching and learning practice, students are provided with curriculum and learning experiences that develop a love of learning and promote the core values of learning, persistence, respect and teamwork.
Children, teachers and parents work together to ensure that school is a happy, positive and rewarding experience for all. Indeed, as “everyone knows everyone” at Wantirna Primary — with caring community members thriving on relationships – student wellbeing is a genuine priority.
Over the Term 3 holidays the Senior Learning Unit classrooms were altered to create a new open learning space. Blinds were also installed throughout the school's main building over the school holidays and with every classroom in the Senior Learning Unit equipped with Teamboards and a computer ratio of one for every two students our classes have gotten off to a great start for Term 4, eager to learn in our new learning space.

Federal government National School Pride funding was used to complete building alterations to the Senior Learning Unit classrooms during the school holidays. Internal blinds were also installed throughout the school’s main building over the holidays, assisting the use of the Teamboard interactive whiteboard technology in our classrooms. Everyone is welcome to visit our new SLU “open learning space”. (Additionally, for 2010 enrolments please arrange a personal school tour via the school office).Click here to read more
