Sustainability Heroes

Hi Fellow Sustainability Heroes,

Over the last 12 months our entire school community has been actively engaged in making our school more sustainable while also educating our young stars about ensuring the future is bright for them all. We have implemented plenty of initiatives - too many to mention! We recycle paper and plastic, turn our food waste into compost for our garden or food for our chooks.

Students have got into the spirit of Sustainability by undertaking lessons on Waste, Biodiversity and Energy. Our JLU even went to CERES as part of their curriculum and had a great day.

Many students have stepped up and taken on positions of responsibility such as Light Monitors, Recycling Leaders and some even help Jenine in the office by inputting bill information to see how we are tracking.

In saying all that we are extremely close to receiving our CORE MODULE certification which will make us a 1 star Resource Smart School. This would be a fantastic achievement and credit goes to everyone associated with WPS.

Cheers

Mr P

Accelerated Learning

Early Learning Accelerated Program

Come join us for our  free accelerated pre-school program that is designed so that children entering primary school are well prepared in their gross motor skills, early phonics, music and dance.  “These are critical to strengthen the brain cortex so that both sides of the brain are talking to each other.” Ms Adgemis said.  “I am passionate about offering this regardless of whether the children will attend Wantirna in their Foundation year.  All children should have these opportunities to succeed and be the best that they can be. And for those children who will stay with us, there is also a transition process that ensures that the only tears on day one of school are mum’s.” Friday afternoons 2:00pm - 3:15pm during school term.

Accelarated Program Flyer    Come and join us in this free, fun activity.
