Principal's Message
It is a huge privilege to be Principal of Wantirna Primary School. The staff and I want to prepare our students for their bright future. What do we do to ensure this aim can be achieved?
Small classes and highly qualified teachers give students every chance to achieve their personal best. We are doing everything possible to prepare our students academically and emotionally for their future lives.
The staff here have created an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness and we are extremely proud of our open door policy as it applies to the school community. We believe that education is a shared responsibility and we aim to work in co-operation with our children and their families so that together we can do everything possible to make a child's school days happy and successful.
We also make sure that the children are exposed to a broad academic curriculum, which encourages them to develop their intellectual potential. Our curriculum is based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), and we teach students a wide range of skills, which they will be able to use throughout their lives.
Wantirna is a vibrant school where there is always something new and exciting happening. Our staff and students find it a pleasure to be part of such a positive environment.
To summarise, children at Wantirna PS are valued as individuals who have a right to academic, emotional, social, and physical nourishment. Using our school values of respect, persistence, teamwork and learning we prepare our students for their bright future.
Have a great day!
Jason Walker
